Mount Everest was recently scaled by American mountaineer Colin O’Brady, who paid respect to the Pakistani legend Ali Sadpara  thereafter.

Brady can be seen smiling while holding up flags from several nations in a photo that has gone viral on social media.

In a homage to the legendary Sadpara, he may also be seen waving Pakistan’s flag.

“Colin O’Brady, an American adventurer, pays homage to his fellow climbers who died on K2 this year. He erected flags for his buddies who died ascending the treacherous K2 from the summit of Mount Everest. Muhammad #AliSadpara from Pakistan was one of his pals “The US Embassy in Islamabad sent out a tweet.

Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri, and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr had set out on their trip to summit K2 on February 3, Sadpara’s birthday, and had asked followers and lovers to “keep us in your prayers.”

They began their ascent of the last peak in the early hours of February 5, expecting to complete the arduous task by the afternoon.

The trip was not discovered despite a comprehensive search by the Pakistan Army for the mountaineer and his colleagues, and Sadparas’ family proclaimed him dead.

Sajid Sadpara, his son, has stated, “I will keep my father’s purpose alive and fulfil his ambition.” Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri, and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr had set out on their trip to summit K2 on February 3, Sadpara’s birthday, and had asked followers and lovers to “keep us in your prayers.”
