Usman Mirza was detained by Islamabad police after a video of him aggressively beating a young woman and a male went popular on social media.

Farhan, Mirza’s co-conspirator, was also captured. The third suspect in the video is being sought. The arrested suspect is scheduled to appear in court today.

A video of Mirza assaulting and punching a young couple sparked outrage on Pakistani social media, with the hashtag #ArrestUsmanMirza trending at the top.

Within hours of the video going viral, the Islamabad police arrested Mirza and filed an FIR.

Mirza can be seen in the disturbing video hitting and torturing the young couple in a room full of other men. In addition, previously unseen footage of the accused’s weapons has surfaced.

When numerous people tried to stop Mirza, he reportedly threatened the young man and woman.

Mirza is reported to be a real estate broker.

Maleeka Bokhari, a PTI MNA, gave an update on the situation, stating that the Islamabad IG is in charge of the investigation.

“I have gotten several letters from ladies who are afraid and furious. “The State is here to defend you, and such barbarians will not be spared,” Bokhari wrote.
