On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan issued a directive to the authorities to ensure that the Covid-19 precautionary SOPs are strictly followed during Eid-ul-Fitr.

The announcement was made today at a meeting of the federal cabinet, where the attendees were informed on the infection and vaccine situation.

Asad Umar, the Minister of Planning, said earlier today that over 164,000 people were vaccinated for Covid-19 on Monday in a single day. In just 24 hours, Pakistan announced 3,377 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 837,523.

The PM went on to say that the people would be given the most relief possible when it comes to drafting the annual budget. He also stated that the government would prioritize infrastructure programs that benefit the general public.

Prime Minister Imran went on to say that the construction projects would help fuel the country’s economic activity and create jobs.

The meeting agreed to reduce the prisoners’ sentences by 90 days each. The plans for the annual budget were also discussed by those in attendance. The participants were also informed about the anti-inflation policy.

The cabinet also agreed to detain the army to assist the civil administration in overcoming Covid, including the private sector in the taxation process, detaining an output management member at the heavy industries in Taxila, and issuing a commemorative coin to mark the 100th anniversary of NED University.
